Founded in 2022, The Eco Fairs was created to shine a light on sustainable small businesses across the UK. Our CEO, Tomi, originally ran a handmade sustainable hair accessories brand called Scrunchieology and noticed a gap in the market while searching for events that aligned with her sustainable brand values. She realised that her target audience of eco-conscious consumers was difficult to find at the markets available to her.

A chronic market-goer herself, Tomi saw the potential in bringing together the many sustainable brands she encountered and the mindful shoppers looking for them. The Eco Fairs was born out of a desire to bridge that gap, providing a space for sustainable crafters and consumers to connect.

From our very first market in Mill Hill, NW London, which featured just 5 brands, we’ve continued to grow. Our December 2022 event on Shoreditch High Street saw 25 incredible crafters and over 600 visitors in only five hours! This December, we’re expanding once again, hosting a two-day market in the iconic Hackney Wick, with more than 40 crafters joining us to celebrate sustainable businesses.

At The Eco Fairs, sustainability drives everything we do. We carefully curate our crafters, and are always on the look for sustainable brands, as well as encouraging our visitors to make mindful purchasing choices and support small. It’s not just about the markets—each interaction, purchase, and mention helps to build a community that places a value on sustainability.
